Gautag Gera 1934” Tinnie, Stamped Metal
A very handsome piece with excellent relief and what looks like a nicely burnished, nickel finish, the tinny is designed as a three oak leaf cluster, with the central leaf being the highest. Positioned just above the center point on this leaf is a sharp looking eagle and swastika with angle-swept wings. Below this is what is probably a city coat of arms shield for Gera, showing a swastika and rampant lion. The event inscription above the eagle, at the top of the center leaf, reads “Gau Day Gera 1934”. Angling downward along the center of the left leaf and upward on the right is the motto “Germany Lives Eternal”. A very fine tinnie, measuring about 1.5” high. The pin on the reverse is sound.
