 Original Reichluftschutz (Reichs Air Defense) Uniform- tunic, pants and hat - Deinstfrock (Service Uniform) for Luftschutzhauptfuhrer (Air Defense Chief Leader or Captain. sometimes noted as Hauptluftschutzfuhrer). The Reichsluftschutzbund (National Air Defense League) had a rank structure and wore insignia similar to those of the Luftwaffe, and were engaged in a variety of missions ranging from aircraft spotting and Anti-aircraft firing to post-raid search and recovery operations. Members ranged from full time service to part time volunteers. Background color on the shoulder strap and collar tab is lilac, and the half wreath and two stars are for the rank of Captain. Uniform is overall excellent condition the exceptions being three or four tiny moth holes just below the fly area of the riding breech type pants, and one worn spot on the edge of the tunic (about 3/4" long even with the left breast pocket. One label has been removed, but label in the inside breast pocket remains with the owner's name (which I cannot read, but maybe you can in the photo). Two or three minor rips in the sweatband of the hat, and one of the attaching prongs on the hat's winged wreath insignia has broken off. All original uniform. Very handsome example.
